And it is over! Congratulations to the Falls Church Barons for clinching the 2023 spring/summer championship in a tit-for-tat matchup against the Arlington Mallards. The toughest (and most prestigious) championship to get in all of the local adult baseball went 'overtime' due to weather delays and a replay of game #4. Game #5 was another nail bitter that ended with a bottom of the 9th bases loaded "K" to seal the deal for the Barons; 3-1 the final. The 'Kulwicki Cup' returns to the Barons, and marks their 12th DC WOOD Championship, and 6th in the last 8 years. sitting only behind the Alexandria A's for total "Chips". Barons Ace Paul McClure and outfielder Gabriel Andreyev named series "Co-MVPs".
