The A's and Navigators made a last-minute move from Bryant Alternative to West Potomac High School after discovering that Bryant was not in playable condition on Monday night. Until the 8th inning, it looked like the late start wouldn't matter, as a stifling, fast-paced pitching duel ensued.

Nickolas Meyers for the Navigators, and Taylor Bryner for the A's, racked up 17 innings pitched, giving up only a 1-1 tie through the first seven.

Then, in the top of the 8th, the A's defense let Bryner down, flubbing 5 plays to allow 5 runs to score with 2 outs, effectively ruining Bryner's gem of a game. The rally included a bases loaded double by Dozier, officially marked as an error on the outfielder, that scored all three runners. Meanwhile Meyers was bending but not breaking, allowing the A's batters to scatter 9 hits but stranding most of them, and that continued through the 8th.

As has been the case for their past three games, the A's found themselves mounting a comeback in the final inning. They pushed three across and brought the winning run to the plate, but the hole was too deep to climb out of, and Meyers capped the victory with a strikeout on his 164th pitch of the night. Navs 6, A's 4.

Navigators play next after the Memorial Day break on the 29th at Blair versus the Barons, and the A's will squeeze one more in, this Wednesday back at WPHS, for the third game of their season series with the Mallards, which is currently knotted at 1 apiece.
