Those baseball fans in Fairfax County who did not attend the Arlington Silver Bullets vs A's DH this weekend missed out on great double header action at West Potomac High School.  It is worth your time to go watch Silver Bullets starting SS Harrison White sliding all over the field, digging balls out, and making clean, strong throws to first base. The A's would prevail in both games, but the Bullets have a strong squad that is just hitting its stride.

Game 1: Steve Lohrman averaged a strikeout per inning, earning the complete game win for the A's, his third of the young season, giving up just 2 earned runs.  The Alexandria A’s took the first side of the double header 10 to 3. Offensively, George Omeir had 3 RBI’s and Manny Rivera had 2 RBI’s  for the A's, and Harrison White kept several other A's batters off of the base paths with stellar pro-level defensive plays.

Robert Dreyer started Game 2 for the Bullets.  He pitched 3 innings giving up 5 earned runs in the loss.  Although he couldn’t find his best stuff on the mound tonight he helped his team stay in it with a multi-hit game and 2 RBI’s.  The A’s clinched the double header, winning the second game 8 to 5.  George Omeir remained consistent in game 2 going 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and an RBI.  The A’s started Taylor Bryner on the bump, with Damon Cruz in relief. Bryner went 4 innings and gave up no earned runs, and Cruz closed out the game averaging more than a strikeout per inning, earning himself a 3 inning save.

Both teams play their next games this Monday at 8pm.  The Arlington Silver Bullets take on their cross-town rival the Arlington Mallards at Cosca Park, field 4.  The Alexandria A’s play the Washington Thundercats at Nike Park. The season is heating up, stay tuned!
