Navs win again

The Northern Virginia Navigators on Wednesday got back at the Mt Pleasant Mudcats in convincing fashion, on the heels of a 1-1 DH split that saw the Mudcats earn their first franchise victory in DC Wood. Nick Myers went the distance for the Navigators, giving up only 2 earned runs and leading them to a 16-7 lead before the game was called due to time. Myers also went 1-for-1 at the plate.

Offensively, the Navs were led by David Zumwalt (4-4, 4 RBI, 2 SB) and Pepe Gil (2-2, 2 RBI, 1 SB) and scored seventeen runs overall, including one that was reverted after the game was called in the ninth inning. Though the Navigators' final lead was gaudy, the game was mostly close except for one particularly explosive inning on offense.

For the Mudcats, Haden Diebler and 2019 DC Wood #1 overall draft pick Tanner Heltibridle each had multiple hits, and scored two and three runs, respectively.

The two teams will face each other yet again, Saturday at 9am at Frank Mann Field, as the Mudcats will try to even the season series.
