2026 season information

Welcome to the 2026 Spring/Summer season!

The 2026 DC WOOD fall season is scheduled to start on March 28th with the playoffs concluding by the end of July.  The regular season will have 24 scheduled games and playoff best-of-three series, with a best-of-five Championship Series. 

The league provides best-in-class competition along with some great perks including:

* Access to local premium ball fields

* Live stream and video highlight packages of select games (usually two games per team)

* All-Star Game & Home Run Derby

* Tournament play opportunities 

FEES: 

$300 per player (non refundable after 3/25)

New team looking to join DC WOOD: Email us to discuss at management@dcwood.org   * Team must have a minimum of 18 on the roster.  NO FULL TEAMS ACCEPTED AFTER March 15. 

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

Who is this league tailored to?  Skilled ballplayers who seek best-in-class competition.

What skill level is required?  Experience level varies from high school to college and beyond, but it is recommended that you feel comfortable playing with and against skilled players. DC WOOD is not recommended for ballplayers with limited ball-playing experience. 

Wood bats only?  YES, wood bats only, composites are OK as long as they are BBCOR certified and have no metal parts. 

What rules do you play by? The 18+ division adheres to the DC WOOD rulebook which is published on our website.  All single games are 9 innings long, or until the 3-hour time limit is reached. All Doubleheaders are 7 innings each.  

Where are the games played? Fall season games are played primarily in Fairfax County, VA, with occasional games in Montgomery County, MD, and the City of Alexandria, VA. 

How much time should I expect to commit?  Games will be scheduled on weekdays and weekends in and around the Washington D.C. metro area.   Single 9-inning games will conclude once 9-innings are completed or when the time limit is reached.  Doubleheaders (weekend only) are scheduled for 7-innings and are completed once 7 innings are completed or when the time limit is reached. 

When will I be assigned to a team if I register as a new player?  All NEW PLAYERS that register by February 28th  are guaranteed a roster spot on a DC WOOD team. Registrations for NEW PLAYERS after said date will be subject to the needs and requirements of the teams.

Are fees refundable? Fees are not refundable after March 25th, no exception.
